Some of our chalkboard signs will need seasoning to get them an authentic dusty chalkboard look rather than appearing flat black.

Each chalkboard sign comes with a piece of chalk.

Step by Step seasoning guide

1. Use the chalk on its side and rub over the entire sign. This will not damage the wording.

2. Using a dry cloth dust off the excess chalk.

3. With a damp cloth wipe your chalkboard clean. Once it is dry rub over the entire chalkboard area with the original dry cloth, this will add a nice amount of chalk dust back onto the sign to give it that authentic look. You can then write on the sign in chalk of you choose.
